Dehradun, 4 Feb: Sahyog Kendra, Raipur, organised a Cancer Awareness Workshop, followed by a rally in association with Doon Medical College in the new OPD Block Campus to commemorate World Cancer Day, here, today.
Principal Ashutosh Sayana appreciated the move. CMS Dr KC Pant threw light on the initial symptoms of cancer and its prevention to the patients and MBBS students.
Present were Dr Navneet Jain, Dr Lalit Mohan, Dr Richa Gupta, Dr Gaurav Sharma, Dr Gogai, Dr Bhavna Pant, Dr Ashok Kumar, Dr Amit Shah, Dr Ankur Joshi, President Ravikant Sharma and Sanjiv Misra of Sahyog Kendra.
While congratulating CMS Dr KC Pant, Dr S Farooq of Himalaya Drugs and Rotary President Nagma Farooq distributed sanitisers to the MBBS students and patients.
CMS, faculty members, MBBS students attended the Cancer Awareness Rally.
Medical experts Dr Navneet Jain and Dr Lalit Mohan briefed media on cancer and prevention activities in Uttarakhand and Doon Medical College.
Dr Lalit stated that people should be made aware that cancer treatment is now available with latest technology in Doon Medical Hospital at very reasonable cost and people from remote and hill areas must benefit from it.
Dr KC Pant appreciated the active role of Sahyog Kendra and thanked it for providing free books on various types of cancer (Breast, Cervical, Head & Neck, Lungs, Diet, etc.) to MBBS students and patients written by top oncologists of India and published by Jeet Association for Support to Cancer Patients.
