Haridwar, 1 Jul: District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, during a department-wise review meeting held at the District Office Auditorium here today, expressed strong displeasure over the slow pace of grievance redressal through the CM Helpline and CM Jansunwai portal. In a firm move aimed at accountability, he ordered the withholding of June salaries and issued clarification notices to the District Education Officer (Basic), Consolidation Officer Roorkee, Executive Officer Shivalik Nagar, Tehsildar Haridwar and Tehsildar Roorkee.

The decision to stop the salaries of five senior officers has caused a stir in the administrative machinery. Emphasising that negligence or delay in resolving public grievances would not be tolerated under any circumstances, the DM has directed that all the officers concerned must ensure timely and effective redressal of complaints. He made it clear that the officers are required to personally contact complainants who register issues via the CM Helpline in order to facilitate direct engagement and satisfactory resolution. He further stressed that all calls made by the officers in connection with grievance redressal are being monitored on a daily basis and, therefore, it is imperative that officers respond with seriousness and urgency.

Dixit also chaired a public hearing at the same venue, attended by district-level officials. A total of 32 complaints were received from citizens on issues such as electricity connections, encroachment, land measurement, and waterlogging. The DM gave a patient hearing to each complainant and succeeded in resolving the majority of the issues on the spot.

He further instructed that cases which could not be immediately resolved be forwarded without delay to the concerned departments. Departmental officers were directed to accord priority to these issues and submit timely reports upon resolution. Dixit reiterated that prompt attention to and resolution of public complaints remains the foremost priority of the state government.
