Dehradun, 28 Jan: The flame of ‘Sanatani Dhammyojan’ was lit under the joint aegis of Sanatan Sangam Trust at the Gautam Buddha Medical College and Dr KKBM Subharti Hospital, Jhajra.
This programme was held in the courtyard of Gautam Buddha Medical College. On this occasion, Mahendra Bhatt, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (Uttarakhand), was the Chief Guest, and Naresh Bansal, MP, Rajya Sabha and National Co-Treasurer of Bharatiya Janata Party, the Special Guest.
The guests were welcomed by Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Desh Deepak, Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee Dr Anil Mongia, Medical Superintendent Dr Rahul Shukla, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Ravindra Singh Aswal, and Assistant Medical Superintendent Dr Deepika Bhayana.
On the occasion, the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” was also held.
The programme began with lighting of the Sanatan Jyoti by the religious leaders, along with Mahendra Bhatt, Naresh Bansal, Sanatan Sangam Trust Trustee Amit Jain and Purushottam Bhatt of Apna Parivar.
Head of Marketing, Publicity and Public Relations, Dr Prashant Kumar Bhatnagar and Assistant Director Amit Joshi welcomed the guests by presenting shawls. Special Executive Officer Balwant Singh Bohra, Vice-Principal Dr Rupa Hanspal and Assistant Project Director Dr Lokesh Tyagi presented mementos to the guests.
In the beginning of the event, Havan was performed by Bhagwatcharya Pandit Suresh Dabral along with chanting of Vedic mantras as per Sanatani rituals. After this, recitation of Buddhist mantras was done by Dr Shanta Kumar Negi, and recitation of Namokar mantra was done by Jain Pandit Sandeep Sajal. After that, recitation of the basic mantras of Sikhism and Shabad Kirtan was organised by Bhai Lalit Singh and Bhai Mintu Singh. Worship was performed as per Buddhist rituals by Khenpo Jamyang Jinpa.
