Satpal Maharaj lays foundation stone for 11 schemes worth Rs 13 crores in Tehri

Tehri, 3 Feb: The foundation stone for 11 departmental schemes at a total cost of Rs 13.16 crores was laid today by Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj here today. The second half instalment amount of Rs 12.46 crore received from the Fifth State Finance Commission was also transferred by the Minister to 1034 gram panchayats by a click of the mouse through PFMS.

The foundation stone for 11 departmental schemes with a total cost of Rs 1313.55 lakh was laid by Satpal Maharaj at the Collectorate in Tehri Garhwal, today.

After that, a meeting on Tehri dam rehabilitation was also organised under the chairmanship of the minister. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding displacement of village Talla Uppu, cut-off date amendment in collateral damage policy, payment of shop aid amount to affected shopkeepers under collateral damage and landless farmers. Maharaj assured the people of speedy resolution of rehabilitation issues regarding Village Talla Uppu. He said it was the government’s duty towards the people who had to leave Bhumiyala to make the Tehri Dam project a reality, and their problems would be resolved soon. He directed the THDC officials to allot the money made available under the Tehri Dam project to the persons concerned.

The Minister also said that the opinion of public representatives ought to be also taken in the state schemes. Panchayats had to be strengthened so that this would help development and progress in the state. He added that for the cleanliness of the village, an amount of about Rs 132 crores had been brought from the Centre for the compactors, through which recycling could be done to produce organic manure. Pahari food and tourism are being promoted by the state government.
