SBS University holds Inter-School Cultural & Music Competition

DEHRADUN, 15 Nov: The Cultural and Music Club of Sardar Bhagwan Singh University, here, organised an Inter-School Cultural & Music Competition as part of Silver Jubilee Year Celebrations, today. Sardarni Harinder Pal Kaur (wife of the late Founder Director, Sardar Gurcharan Singh) accompanied by Vice- Chancellor Prof AK Sharma, Prof Maneesh Arora (Dean, Students Welfare), Prof Veerma Ram (Director, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology) and Zorawar Singh (Manager) graced the event. The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy by the students of schools such as Holy Angel School, Doon Presidency School, Saint Kabeer School, Himalayan School, Shri Guru Ram Rai School, Oceanic School, Vivekanand School, Doon Grammar School and Glacier School. The competition comprised various cultural and music events such as Solo & Group Song, and Dance. The events were judged by Urmi Chaurasia, Dr Reena Kumari and Dr Mamta Singh. The winners of the various events were: Solo Song – First Position: Mohd Aman (St Kabeer School); Second Position: Preeti Kandwal (Vivekanand School); Third Position: Vansh Thapa (Glacier School). In Group Song, the first position was taken by Vivekanand School; second, Doon Grammar School; and third, Glacier School. In Solo Dance, first position went to Meghna Rawat (Glacier School); second, Anushka Bisht (St Kabeer School); and third, Prerna (Vivekanand School). In Group Dance, the first position was taken by Vivekanand School; followed by Holy Angel School and St Kabeer School, respectively. The Best Team Award went to Vivekanand School. The events were coordinated by Capt Nalini Mehrishi, Dr Barkha Kamal (Convener, Cultural and Music Club) and Dr Vikas Jadon. The function concluded with prize the distribution ceremony. The event was attended by the management, faculty, staff, teachers of the various schools and students.
