SGRRU, ICSI sign MoU on Academic Collaboration

Dehradun, 27 Sep: The SGRR University signed a MOU with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in the presence of Vice Chancellor (SGRR University) Prof (Dr) US Rawat, here, today. The MOU was signed by Prof (Dr) Deepak Sahni, Registrar, SGRR University, and Devendra V Deshpande, President, ICSI. The event began with the felicitation of ICSI dignitaries followed by the Registrar’s welcome address. Thereafter, Vijaylaxmi Sati, Chairperson, Dehradun Chapter of NIRC, ICSI, spoke about the objectives, achievements and functions of the Institute and the usefulness of the CS course for students. The Chairman, ICSI, then shared his vision, efforts and experiences with the attendees. The Vice Chancellor of SGRR University apprised the dignitaries about the golden history of SGRR Education Mission and the efforts made for society. After this the Registrar, SGRR University and President, ICSI signed the MOU. The dignitaries of SGRR University were felicitated by A.K. Srivastava, Joint Secretary, Student Service and Training, ICSI. The Dean of SMCS proposed the vote of thanks. At the end, the President, ICSI interacted with the faculties and students. The event was conducted by Shailendra Sainwal; Nodal Coordinator, SGRR University. Ashish Vishnoi, Sandeep Badoni, Rohit Dhyani, Dr Brij Mohan Kanti, Ganesh Kothari and Sanjay Singh were also present.   The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is the only recognised professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India. The main objective of this MOU is to assist each other in providing the necessary knowledge and skills for academic, research and training excellence in collaboration with the University, it would promote quality teaching and innovative research. The ICSI will provide assistance for organising specialised training and development programmes, Conferences, Seminars and Workshops for the faculty members, Research Scholars and students of SGRR University.ICSI will also provide technical expertise to the Academic Council, IQAC and other academic or research bodies of Schools/University as per the requirements. SGRR University will also share the expertise of its faculty members as resource persons for training programmes, workshops, conferences and seminars organised by ICSI. Regular exchange of course materials, case studies, research publications and other academic and research inputs is also an important aspect of this MOU. ICSI and SGRR University would work jointly for teacher congruence by organising specialised programmes and undertaking joint research projects which will be mutually beneficial. The faculties and academicians of SGRR University will be a part of the ICSI panel. Under the library scheme, the ICSI will provide its own publications and selected books of other publishing houses free of cost to the SGRR University for use of the students and members, to be kept in the library. SGRR University will also share its research publications with the ICSI.
