Dehradun, 5 May: Popular singer and Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan was seriously injured in a road accident while travelling from Uttarakhand to Noida. His car collided with a loader parked on the side of the highway in Gajraula. His driver Rahul Singh and companion Ajay Mehra were also injured in the accident.
The accident occurred on National Highway 9 near the Gajraula police station area in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, around 3:40 a.m. this morning. Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the scene and admitted the injured to a private hospital for first aid. Given the seriousness of Pawandeep’s injuries, he was later referred to a hospital in Noida for further treatment.
Pawandeep, son of Suresh Rajan and a resident of Champawat, Uttarakhand, is not only the winner of Indian Idol 12 but also the brand ambassador for art, culture, and tourism in Uttarakhand. His condition remains critical, and doctors are closely monitoring his health.
The police have taken both damaged vehicles into custody and are investigating the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep, leading to the collision.
As news of the accident spread, prayers for Pawandeep’s recovery poured in from across Uttarakhand. His fans, along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, MLAs, and folk singers, expressed their concern and wished him a speedy recovery on social media.
