Kotdwar, 6 June: The plan for the drinking water supply scheme being built by the Uttarakhand Urban Sector Development Agency at a cost of Rs 350 crore was shared by departmental officials with the Speaker of the Assembly, Ritu Khanduri, and the councilors of ward numbers 4 to 26, here, today.
Khanduri said that these 23 wards between Kho and Sukhro river have been divided into 20 DMA so that the work can be done smoothly and systematically. Under this project, water tanks, 4 tube wells and about 300 km of water distribution system have been included in the operation. She said that this scheme is beneficial for Kotdwar city area, due to old drinking water line and excessive houses being built, people have to constantly struggle with water. Under this scheme, the old line will be removed and a new drinking water line will be laid, which will also be beneficial for the increasing population in future.
She thanked the central and state governments on behalf of all the residents of the area that development work is going on continuously in Kotdwar.
On this occasion, assistant engineer Lokesh Kumar, Vishrut Kumar, Narendra Singh, councilor Kamal Negi, councilor Subhash Pandey, Jyoti Singh, Neeru Bala Khantwal, Jaideep Nautiyal, etc., were also present.
