Dehradun, 17 Aug: Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan today held a meeting with senior officials of the government, administration and departments in Vidhan Bhawan here regarding the security arrangements for the monsoon session of the fifth assembly starting from 21 August in the summer capital Gairsain-Bhararisain. Khanduri directed the officials of the Assembly Secretariat and Police Department to keep the security arrangements completely tight. In the meeting held today, it was decided that during the assembly session, even the employees of the assembly will not be able to take vehicles to the assembly premises without a vehicle entry pass.
On the recommendation of MLAs, one and on the recommendation of ministers, two visitors can be issued entry passes by each member for the visitors’ gallery to watch the proceedings of the House. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan instructed the officials that unlike before, no officer, minister and MLAs will be given liaison officers (LO) during the session. The Assembly Speaker mainly instructed to maintain electricity, water supply and cleanliness in the assembly premises.
The speaker informed that video recording and webcasting of the proceedings of the session will be done by the Department of Information and Public Relations and ITDA. During the session, the fire brigade officers have been instructed to remain alert. The medical department will ensure the arrangement of necessary medical teams, medicines and ambulances. Officers have been instructed to maintain uninterrupted power supply, clean drinking water and cleanliness.
