Kotdwar, 27 May: Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan visited “Digital Carve & Handicraft,” a craft-based firm located in the Gadighat area of Kotdwar. The firm is operated by young entrepreneur Sehawal Rawat, who is transforming Uttarakhand’s traditional art and cultural heritage into beautiful modern creations using advanced technologies like CNC and laser cutting.

Speaker Khanduri praised Sehawal Rawat’s work, stating that such initiatives not only help preserve Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage but also serve as excellent examples of self-employment and local job creation.

Rawat has been active in this field since 2017 and, through his work, has contributed to showcasing Uttarakhand’s cultural identity across the country. He shared that he began his business by availing a loan under the Uttarakhand Government’s self-employment scheme. Today, he is not only self-reliant but also provides employment to 20 other youth.

The Speaker remarked that the success of young entrepreneurs like Sehawal Rawat is a source of inspiration for future generations. She extended her best wishes to him for his innovation, dedication, and commitment to cultural preservation, and said that Uttarakhand takes pride in such young talents.

It is worth noting that Sehawal Rawat left a job in the United States to return to India, where he embraced self-employment in Kotdwar, creating not only a unique identity for himself but also sustainable livelihoods for many others.
