Dehradun, 1 May: St Joseph’s Day and Labour Day were celebrated here, today, by the St Joseph’s Academy Middle School in the auditorium. The event began with welcome of the ancillary staff by the students with ‘tilak’ and sweets, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
After the prayer, an introduction to St Joseph’s Day was given by the students. The programme comprised a hymn dedicated to St Joseph, two dances and songs by the school choir. There was a heart-warming video presentation made by the students on the workers, shown as a tribute to their tireless service.
Vice Principal Bro Binoi Luckose addressed the audience and showed his appreciation for the ancillary staff. Principal Bro Babu Varghese and the Vice Principal felicitated Daya Ram and Inder Raj on completion of 25 years in school. Gifts were distributed to the workers as a token of appreciation.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Middle School Coordinator Anuradha Tandon and Namita Lal. The programme was brought to culmination by motivational words spoken by Pradeep Chhettri, the School Supervisor. He proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of all the workers.
