Dehradun, 20 Feb: MLA Kishore Upadhyay, a pioneer of the Himalaya, Ganga, and Jal-Jeevan Abhiyan and the Vanadhikar Movement, has described the budget presented by the Dhami government in the Legislative Assembly as progressive and a significant step towards the development of Uttarakhand.
Upadhyay stated that the budget is primarily based on the three essential elements of life – air, water, and food. He emphasized that the new concept of GEP (Gross Environmental Product) will not only send a strong message across India but also globally. This approach will enhance resource availability in environmentally conserved areas worldwide and help slow down the pace of climate change.
The budget will increase public interest in Himalayan conservation, further strengthening the concept of Green Bonus and Carbon Credit. Upadhyay also believes that this budget will lead the state’s silver jubilee celebrations towards a golden era.
He has hailed the budget as balanced, inclusive, and transparent, aligning well with the aspirations of the common people.
