DEHRADUN, 20 Jun: Uttarakhand Police has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Institutional Performance Award for State Police’ by the Government of India for its outstanding and effective performance in passport application verifications during the financial year 2025-26. The award was presented on the basis of national-level evaluation of police verification processes across the country.
At a ceremony held at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi on Friday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar handed over the award to Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Administration, AP Anshuman, who received it on behalf of Uttarakhand police.
Expressing happiness, Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth noted that the honour reflects the sustained efforts of the State police to make the passport verification process timely, transparent and citizen-centric. He explained that the police headquarters has ensured regular review of verification work in all the districts, effective use of technological resources and strict adherence to prescribed timelines, which has collectively resulted in the force achieving excellence at the national level.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also congratulated the police on this achievement and stated that providing citizens with quality, transparency and time-bound services remains Government’s top priority. He further described the award as a symbol of success in that direction and expressed confidence that the police will continue to excel in citizen services, thereby enhancing the pride of the state.
