CM felicitates talented students at Vidya Bharti event

Roorkee, 27 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today felicitated meritorious students who have excelled in the High School and Intermediate Board Examinations at the Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shikshan Sansthan’s Pratibha Samman Samaroh in Roorkee. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, the CM noted that it is a privilege for him to honour the talented students for the third consecutive year. He added that their success proves that discipline, hard work and values can help achieve any goal. Extending his best wishes to them on this occasion, the CM also observed that the recognition would boost their confidence and inspire them to perform with excellence in future examinations and in every sphere of life.
Dhami also praised Vidya Bharati’s education model, which he said has laid a strong foundation of learning and values across the country by imparting education rooted in Sanatan culture, patriotism and Indian life principles. He recalled that the Saraswati Shishu Mandir, which began in Gorakhpur in 1952, has now grown into a vast banyan tree, with Vidya Bharati educating nearly 45 lakh students nationwide. In Uttarakhand alone, 562 schools under the Vidya Bharati are imparting education to about 1.25 lakh students. He also saluted the contribution of teachers, volunteers and workers associated with the institution.
Highlighting the state government’s initiatives, the CM asserted that Uttarakhand was the first in the country to implement the New Education Policy (NEP), making the system modern, practical and employment-oriented. He listed measures such as smart classes in government schools, free textbooks, distribution of shoes and bags, the Chief Minister’s Meritorious Student Incentive Scheme, Bharat Darshan tours, establishment of model colleges, IT labs and hostels. He added that the Kaushalam programme was being run to promote skill development, Indian knowledge traditions and entrepreneurship.
Dhami also emphasised that the government has enacted the country’s strictest anti-copying law to safeguard the future of youth, which has yielded positive results. Over the past five years, more than 34,000 young people have been given government jobs with complete transparency. He further stated that candidates clearing the written stage of competitive examinations such as UPSC, NDA and CDS are also being provided financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for further preparation.
The CM asserted that the students are India’s present and future. With their knowledge, values, patriotism and leadership abilities, they would help realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India and restore the nation’s position as a global teacher.
During the programme, the CM inaugurated the Anand Swaroop Arya Saraswati Vidya Mandir Shishu Vatika. Among those present on this occasion were Chairperson of the institution Kaushalya Devi Arya, Vidya Bharati’s central organisation minister Domeshwar Sahu, Rajnikant Shukla, IIT Roorkee Director Kamal Kishore Pant, district panchayat chairperson Kiran Chaudhary, Roorkee mayor Anita Agarwal, BJP district president, Roorkee, Madhu Singh, Shyamveer Singh Saini, Dinesh Kaushik, Ajit Chaudhary, Adesh Saini, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, joint magistrate Deepak Ramchandra Seth, SDM, Bhagwanpur, Devendra Negi, along with the parents and the students.
