Dehradun, 5 May: Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University organised a special programme for the benefit of the students who are looking for a career in Arbitration and Banking Law. Ruby Singh Ahuja, Senior Partner of Karanjiwala & Company, a renowned law firm of the country, was the keynote speaker on the occasion.
In the beginning of her presentation, Ahuja explained the main provisions of Arbitration and Banking Law. She said that the field of banking has emerged as a new dimension of practice for law graduates. Due to the new IB code, the demand for banking advocates has increased in the country. She taught the students the skills to face the challenges coming in the practice of arbitration and banking law. Along with vivid examples of misuse of banking and insolvency laws by various institutions of the country, she also threw light on the decided cases of the Supreme Court. At the end of the programme, a question-answer session was aso organised.
Prof Rajesh Bahuguna said that, due to the demand in the field of banking and arbitration in the country and the world, the interest of law students has increased unexpectedly in this direction. Law College Dehradun has not only added Banking Law to its curriculum, but also through lectures by well-known experts of the country, students are being made proficient in Arbitration and Banking Law.
Those present on the occasion were Prof Rajesh Bahuguna, Iqbal Singh Sawhney, Prof Poonam Rawat, Dr Bhawna Arora, Amit Chaudhary, Dr Vaibhav Uniyal, faculty members and students.
