Dehradun, 5 May: Amano Samarpan, the celebrated bird-watcher and world famous ornithologist, today released his book, ‘A Photographic Guide to the Birds of India including Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Pakistan and Bangladesh’ at the Natraj Bookshop, here.
The book is an excellent photographic guide to the Birds of the Indian Subcontinent. The eye-catching photographs that flawlessly capture the detail of each bird’s beauty are accompanied by crisp descriptions and brief identification hints. The book is a treasure for all birders.
Amano Samarpan studied photography at Duckpool in the UK. Drawn to India by its spiritual heritage, he discovered meditation and the ability of Birds to bring one down to earth.
Speaking before a select audience, Samarpan said he was fortunate to have released his book at the well known Green Bookshop and considered himself blessed to have done so in Garhwal Himalayas, which many like him consider it to be the abode of the Gods.
He expressed the hope that the younger generation would take to bird watching for relaxation and well meaning entertainment and develop themselves into becoming interesting individuals. Upendra Arora, the owner of the Bookshop, said it was indeed an honour for the Bookshop and the city, and thanked the famous author.
