4th Moot Court Competition at Graphic Era

Dehradun, 27 Apr: In the Fourth Moot Court competition organised at Graphic Era, with the aim of giving a new dimension to legal education, Alliance University, Bangalore, secured the first position.
Chief Guest at the valedictory session, today, former Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court Justice Rajesh Tandon said that moot court competitions should include topics that are related to new laws so that students can understand them with more depth through debate and research.
Justice Tandon was addressing the valedictory session of the Fourth Inter-University Moot Court Competition organised at Graphic Era Hill University. He said that, during the competition, participants presented court proceedings and advocacy skills like real case pleadings. Justice Tandon emphasised on the importance of practical knowledge for students. In the ceremony, former Judge of Uttarakhand High Court Justice Lokpal Singh inspired students to pursue their passion and dreams. He said that hard work is the only mantra for success and there are no shortcuts.
Supreme Court advocate Dr Manoj Gorkela, while sharing his early life experiences, said that the struggles to overcome challenges in life are itself an art. Supreme Court advocate Jayant Bhatt and founder of YVN & Associates Yogesh V Nayyar highlighted the importance of ethical values, research and practice in the field of law.
Students from 45 universities and colleges across the country participated in the moot court competition. They exhibited excellent judicial process and reasoning skills.
Alliance University, Bangalore, secured the first position and a cash prize of Rs 51,000. Christ Deemed to be University NCR, Delhi, secured second position and a cash prize of Rs 31,000. Dr BR Ambedkar NLU, Sonipat, emerged as winner in Best Memorial category. In this category, Alliance University came first and Bhartiya Vidyapeeth came second. Winners of these categories were also awarded cash prizes.
The competition was organised by the School of Law. Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University, Prof Rakesh Kumar Sharma, HOD Dr Vivek Goyal along with coordinator Stuti Bhandari, Aditya, Dev Priya Tarar and students were present at the event.
