‘Swar Lehri’ celebrates coming festival of Holi

Dehradun, 14 Mar: ‘Swar Lehri’, a classical music programme, was held this evening by ‘Sangeetanjali’ at the residence of its Joint Secretary, Suneet Agarwal & Kirti Agarwal, on Nemi Road to celebrate the coming festival of Holi.
The programme began with the welcome of all guests present by Atul Vishnoi, the coordinator. Mementos were presented to the artists. Gyan Prakash Gupta, Secretary, Sangeetanjali, welcomed Dr Vijaya Godbole, the artist of the evening.
‘Swar Lehri’ began with two bhajans sung by Aditya Pant, an extremely talented Divyang vocalist. Thereafter, Aditi Bachheti, a promising singer and disciple of Dr Godbole enthralled the audience with her melodious rendition of Raag Yaman (Chhota Khayal, Teen Taal) and Tarana.
Dr Vijaya Godbole mesmerised the audience with her Hindustani classical rendition of Raagas, Thumris and Geet Holi, etc. Dr Godbole is a famous classical vocalist who has participated in various National music festivals like Jhansi Mahotsav, Badri, Kedar Mahotsava, Taj Mahotsava. Ganesh Bhajangam, Ganga Mahoharini, etc., are her famous creations. She was accompanied on the Tabla by Pandit Ajay Shankar Mishra and Shyam Bhargava on Harmonium. The event was anchored by Atul Vishnoi.
Sangeetanjali’s second event of 2021 concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Neeraj Gupta, who thanked all the artists, guest audience and everyone who made the programme a success. Vocalist of international fame Pandit Rajeev Marathe, Vijay Snehi, Dr Jagriti Dobhal, Anil Kumar Agarwal, Indira Pali, Pradeep Sharma and many renowned personalities of Dehradun attended this musical evening.
