Dehradun, 10 Sep: Nutrition Week is being celebrated in the Food Technology Department of the School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, here, from 10 to 13 September.
As part of this event, a workshop was organised on the topic, “Entrepreneurial Venture”. The event aimed to create awareness about nutritious food, which correlates with the theme of Nutrition Month, 2024, i.e., “Nutritious Food for Everyone”. This event also seeks to find entrepreneurs among students, give wings to their start-up ideas, and provide a platform to exchange ideas and innovations.
The workshop began with the lamp lighting ceremony in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dharam Buddhi, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Rajesh Bahuguna, and Dean Dr Ajay Singh. Thereafter, all the delegates visited the stall and encouraged students with their words and valuable feedback.
A total number of 22 teams participated from the different departments of the University. Various value-added food products, namely Ragi momos, carrot payasam, sabut dana tikki, multigrain ladoos, ragi chat, and banana bread, etc., were prepared by the participants which were also evaluated for their consumer acceptability and sensory properties by judges.
At the end, the participants were appreciated by the dignitaries for their highly innovative recipe ideas and enthusiastic participation in the event. Events are being organised with the coordination of Yogesh Awasthi, Dr Pooja Yadav, Dr Pinku Nath, Dr Kanika, Junaid, Kamran, etc.
