U’chal University launches 24-hour International Hackathon

Dehradun, 23 Mar: Uttaranchal University inaugurated a 24-hour International Hackathon, here, today. Students of the trans-disciplinary domain are participating from Pan India Universities including international students. As many as 200+ students are participating in the event, who will be solving the problem statements in the transdisciplinary domains including Manufacturing 4.0, Pharma 4.0, Energy Management 4.0, Legal Practices 4.0, Highways 4.0, Cities 4.0, Villages 4.0, Industry 6.0, Hospitality 4.0, etc. The cash prizes for different categories are worth more than Rs 2 lakh. The sponsors of the event are leading industries including Steel Strong valves, Matangi Rubber Pvt. Lmt., Vaishnavi Engineering, and D V Singh Foundation for child development.

The event was inaugurated by Joint Director, MSME, RK Chaudhary, Chancellor Jitender Joshi, Assistant Director, MSME, Pushkar Bisht, Vice Chancellor Prof Dharam Buddhi, Vice President Dr Satbir Sehgal, and Director, Research & Innovation, Prof Rajesh Singh.

Chief Guest RK Chaudhary mentioned that hackathons play an important role in incubation and such events supported by MSME would be able to produce a few start-ups.

Chancellor Joshi congratulated the teams for their participation and motivated them to come up with new innovative solutions to societal problems.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dharam Buddhi mentioned that hackathon participation will enhance the problem-solving skills among participants.

Vice president Prof Sehgal congratulated the team of research & innovation for the initiative taken in the direction of innovations and start-ups.

Jury Members of the event are Dr Naresh Kumar, Dr Purnendu S Panday, Rakesh Dubey, Arpit Taneja, Manager Dr Vinod Kumar and Dr Ravindra Sharma.

The inaugural programme was conducted by Dr Anita Gehlot and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Rajesh Singh, Director, Research and Innovation.
