Dehradun, 26 Jul: Tech Fest 2021 of Uttaranchal University started with great fanfare in a virtual opening ceremony held at its Vivekananda Auditorium, here, today.
Vice Chairperson of the Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies, Anuradha Joshi was present as Chief Guest on the occasion along with Chancellor Jitender Joshi and Vice Chancellor Prof Rajesh Bahuguna as Guests of Honour.
The event was inaugurated by paying tribute to the Martyrs of Kargil at the Shaurya Deewar. This was followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp in the Vivekananda Auditorium by Anuradha Joshi, Jitender Joshi, Professor Rajesh Bahuguna and Deans of various departments of Uttaranchal University.
Prof Rajesh Bahuguna stated that all events, including quiz, poster making, PowerPoint presentations, debate, gaming, mixing of images, mind scribbling, coding, etc., would be conducted online for all the students of the university. An Alumni Meet is scheduled on 28 July and would be coordinated by the Corporate Resource Cell of the University.
A mesmerising welcome dance performance was given by Aakshita Chauhan of BA LLB (Hons) course. The event is being organised under the aegis of cultural and events committees under the charge of Dr Bharti Ramola, Head, Cultural and Events Committee, along with faculty coordinators and Event Coordinators of various colleges of the University.
Also present on the occasion were Prof Pradeep Suri, Prof Ajay Singh, Prof Vikas Jakhmola, Prof SB Pandey, Prof Shreya Goyal, Prof Poonam Rawat, Iqbal Singh, Abhishek Pathak, Dr Kartikey Gaur, Smriti Uniyal and Ved Prakash along with thousands of students who joined online.
