DEHRADUN, 4 Dec: Prof (Dr) NK Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, has been named one of the ‘Top 50 Distinguished Educators in Higher Education across India’. Prof Joshi, who is a renowned academic administrator, an internationally acclaimed expert in the field of Computer Science, also an expert in higher education is widely experienced in the establishment and growth of multi disciplinary universities. ‘uLektz Wall of Fame’ has recently announced the ‘Top 50 Distinguished Educators in higher education across India’ for the year 2019. Other prominent names in this list include Prof DP Singh, Chairman, UGC, Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Dr Virender Singh Chauhan, Chairman, NAAC, Prof KK Aggarwal, Chairman, NBA, Prof M Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, JNU. The initiative received a thousand plus valid nominations from across India, of which a few nominations were shortlisted and, finally, over 106 educators were chosen. The vision of this initiative is to celebrate the unique contributions of some of the educators in India, who have not only helped enhance education and enriched the lives of thousands of students but also played a key role in bringing a positive impact on higher education. The finalists were selected based on the recommendations from the internal team and an eminent independent Jury Panel, which has played a key role in reviewing the candidates’ nominations and selecting the finalists. Prof Joshi has been associated in the past with Institutions like Banasthali University, Rajasthan; Missouri University of Science & Technology, Rolla, USA; Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad; Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon; National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM), Faridabad; Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal and Uttarakhand Academy of Administration, Nainital. At all the places of work he has entered new domains, trained new teams, created new facility, and built an ecosystem for research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Expressing his gratitude while accepting the honour, Prof Joshi thanked all his seniors, mentors and team members for their guidance and support on his journey so far.
