Dehradun, 12 May: Central General Secretary of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) Kiran Rawat has reiterated the party’s demand for liquor prohibition across Uttarakhand. She today urged the Central and State Governments to implement an immediate liquor ban. Rawat stated that Uttarakhand, known as Devbhoomi, should be declared a dry state.

Warning that failure to enforce prohibition would prompt a state-wide anti-drug movement, Rawat announced that Uttarakhand Kranti Dal will begin awareness and warning rallies against liquor and drug abuse. According to the party, the drug trade has reached alarming levels in Dehradun, posing a serious threat to families and social stability.

Mahanagar President Vijendra Rawat has announced that UKD Mahanagar, Dehradun, will initiate a warning rally and awareness campaign against the growing drug menace in Patel Nagar from 15 May. He stated that the campaign is being conducted across the metropolitan area and that the party will soon mobilise public support through a regional conference to accelerate the movement.

He claimed that UKD believes the rising drug trade is tearing families apart and that urgent action is needed to curb its spread. The party aims to create widespread awareness and push for policy changes through its upcoming rallies and conferences.
