Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission to boost spiritual tourism: Dhami

Almora, 12 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Shri Peetham Sthapana Mahotsav of Kalyanika Himalaya Devasthanam Trust at Dol Ashram in Lamgara, Almora, today. As part of the celebrations, he worshipped 1,100 girls, performed Abhishek and Puja of Maa Rajeshwari as well and, also, prayed for the prosperity of the nation and the state.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he expressed shock over the Pahalgam terror attack and asserted that India adheres to a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. He reminded that the security forces have given a befitting response to the terror attack. He described Dol Ashram as a centre of divine energy, praising Baba Kalyandas Maharaj’s efforts in installing Sriyantra at the ashram, which he believes will attract global seekers of peace, spirituality, and Indian culture in the future.

The CM also reiterated the state government’s commitment to promoting spiritual tourism through the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, which aims to link temples with improved infrastructure. He lauded Dol Ashram’s role in preserving religious traditions while simultaneously educating the youth on Indian culture. Calling the ashram a living example of Uttarakhand’s rich heritage, Dhami emphasised that the state government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, remains steadfast in its vision of progress.

The CM claimed that under Modi’s leadership, Sanatan culture continues to thrive globally. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to cultural preservation, noting that Uttarakhand has enacted strict religious anti mass-conversion laws and taken action against various conspiracies, including land jihad and love jihad, ensuring the perpetrators are held accountable. He also highlighted Uttarakhand’s milestone achievement as the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code. The anti-copying law, he claimed has provided fair opportunities for youth, allowing candidates from every district to secure places in selection lists.

Commending the ashram’s founder, Maharaj Kalyandas, Dhami noted that the institution is flourishing as a centre for religion, spirituality, culture, and education. He congratulated Maharaj for dedicating his life to charitable work and service. On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, Dhami encouraged people to embrace the principles of religion, peace, and non-violence propagated by Mahatma Buddha.

On this occasion, Maharaj Kalyandas also addressed the gathering and urged people to work towards the betterment of their birthplace, abandon bad habits, and adopt spirituality as a path to happiness and societal well-being. Emphasising the importance of Sanskrit, he asserted that as long as the language remains alive in people’s hearts, Indian identity will continue to thrive.

Also present on the occasion were Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta, MLA, Jageshwar, Mohan Singh Mehra, Almora MLA Manoj Tiwari, former Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, BJP District President Mahesh Nayal, District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey, SSP Devendra Pincha, Chief Development Officer Divesh Shasni, and several other dignitaries.
