Dehradun, 15 Mar: The state government is making continuous efforts to render Uttarakhand TB free. Under the National Health Mission, the Pradhan Mantri TB-free India campaign is being run vigorously across the state. Under this campaign, so far, 8,688 Ni-kshaya Mitras have been registered in the state, who are engaged in helping TB patients defeat the disease. So far, 11,635 TB patients have been benefitted from the help of these Ni-kshaya Mitras. Uttarakhand is one of the top states in the country where maximum Ni-kshaya Mitras have been registered.
State Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat has played a leading role in achieving this record.
Under the National Health Mission, the Pradhan Mantri TB-free India campaign is being run vigorously across the state. Under this campaign, registration of Ni-kshaya Mitras is being done in the state, who are playing an important role in the TB-free Uttarakhand campaign by adopting patients identified across the state. According to the statistics of the Health Department, so far 8,688 Ni-kshaya Mitras have been registered across the state. Of these, 473 are in Almora district, 149 in Bageshwar, 202 in Chamoli, 155 in Champawat, 1166 in Dehradun, 459 in Pauri, 1882 in Haridwar, 1274 in Nainital, 240 in Pithoragarh, 218 in Rudraprayag, 306 in Tehri Garhwal, 1973 in Udham Singh Nagar and 191 in Uttarkashi. According to the health department, there are 12,264 identified TB patients across the state, out of which 11,635 are benefiting from the community support of these mitras. These include 544 in Almora district, 130 in Bageshwar, 316 in Chamoli, 232 in Champawat, 1664 in Dehradun, 370 in Pauri, 3494 in Haridwar, 1206 in Nainital, 143 in Pithoragarh, 237 in Rudraprayag, 435 in Tehri Garhwal, 2429 in Udham Singh Nagar and 435 in Uttarkashi.
