CM leads plantation drive at Malagram on Harela festival

Yamkeshwar (Pauri), 14 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in a plantation drive in Malagram in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri Garhwal district on the occasion of Harela festival. On this occasion, the CM conveyed the message of environmental protection and a green Uttarakhand.

Besides this, he also visited the ‘Dhanvantari Dham Herbal World Himalaya’, where he examined the conservation of rare medicinal plants, ongoing research activities and Ayurveda-based innovations. He also inspected the meditation hut located within the premises as well. Yoga Guru Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna were also present on the occasion.

During the visit, Dhami emphasised on the importance of preserving and promoting Uttarakhand’s rich biodiversity, Himalayan medicinal flora and traditional Ayurvedic knowledge. He observed that this natural heritage is invaluable for the entire world and its conservation along with scientific research is the need of the hour. The CM asserted that that the efforts being made in this direction would not only provide new impetus to environmental protection but also encourage the cultivation of medicinal plants, Ayurveda-based research, herbal tourism and create new avenues of self-employment and livelihood for local youth.

It may be recalled that the Malagram-based ‘Dhanvantari Dham Herbal World Himalaya’ is a unique herbal park in the country where rare herbs and medicinal plants brought from different states and Himalayan regions are being scientifically conserved and promoted. The complex is emerging as a significant centre for the integration of traditional medical practices and modern research.

Among those present on the occasion were Patanjali Yogpeeth founder Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal, Yamkeshwar MLA Renu Bisht, District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria, SSP, Pauri, Sarvesh Panwar, BJP District President Rajgaurav Nautiyal, SDM Chatar Singh Chauhan along with public representatives, officials and a large number of local citizens.
