Dehradun, 15 Jul: Graphic Era University student Unnati Tripathi, a second-year BA (English) student, has made the university proud by winning two medals at the ASF Eastern Open Squash Championship 2026, held at the Indoor Stadium Sports Complex, Budhapara, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from 22 to 27 June 2026.
Unnati won the Gold Medal in the Girls’ Under-19 category and the Silver Medal in the Women’s category. The tournament was a Silver-level event of the Asian Squash Federation (ASF) and featured 347 players from 21 Indian states, along with international participants from Singapore. A total of 12 events were held during the championship.
Earlier this year, Unnati was selected as India’s No. 1 player in the Girls’ Under-19 category for the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship 2026 after an outstanding performance in the national selection trials conducted by the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI).
Representing India since 2019, Unnati has consistently performed at the highest level. She is currently ranked India No. 5 in both the Girls’ Under-19 and Women’s categories and World No. 161 in the PSA Women’s Rankings.
Her achievement is a proud moment for Graphic Era University and an inspiration to young sportspersons.
