International Investors Conference to be held in Uttarakhand in December

New Delhi, 4 July : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to chair Uttarakhand Investor’s Conference, during his meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday. He said that to attract national and international investors to the state, the “Global Investors Summit-2023″ is proposed in Dehradun in the second week of December this year.
Hailing PM Modi for his guidance in the development of Uttarakhand, the CM Dhami said that under his direction, the state of Uttarakhand is continuously developing in the field of ease of doing business, investment promotion and startups.
CM presented a picture of Baba Neem Karoli and Basmati Rice from Uttarakhand to the Prime Minister.Chief Minister Dhami said that the estimated cost of the Kiccha Khatima Railway Station project is 1546 crore. Looking at the financial condition of the state, he requested that the entire cost be borne by the Central Government.
He also requested to release the central government’s share of about Rs 410 crore for the in-principle agreed Industrial Park under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor.
He also requested the Prime Minister to keep the loan limit of externally aided projects intact. He said that the loan limit has been limited to Rs 12652 crore for the year 2025-2026 under externally aided projects by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Because of this, it has become difficult for the state to present proposals for important new undertakings under externally aided projects.
Dhami said that the recommendation was given in the meeting of the Public Investment Board organized by the Finance Ministry on 07.03.2023 for the Jamrani Dam project. The financial approval of the Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project is to be given by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
He also requested the Ministry of Finance, Government of India to provide relaxation in the condition of compulsorily spending 45 percent of the state’s capital expenditure by 30 September (6 months) for special assistance to the states for capital investment.
The CM said that to streamline the traffic in Dehradun and Rishikesh, there is also a request to shift the main railway station of Dehradun to Harrawala and transfer the land of the old railway station under Rishikesh to the state government.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that about 457 acres of land with the Government of India PSU BHEL under Haridwar are currently not being put to any use. He requested the Prime Minister to transfer this land to the state government in view of the possibilities of industrialization and urbanization in Haridwar.
He said that the IDS scheme was launched to promote industrialization in Uttarakhand including Himachal Pradesh after the GST era. The capital subsidy of beneficiaries has not been released. He requested that this very popular scheme (about 1585 units, subsidy of 1600 crore and direct investment of about 7000 crore) should be implemented again for the next 5 years.
He also urged the PM to expedite the work on the important infra project Dehradun-Tehri Tunnel Project and the expansion of Pantnagar Airport.
He said that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the economy of the state. Work is being done on the Haridwar-Rishikesh Redevelopment Grand Project worth about Rs 7000 crore. On the lines of Central Vista, the new Admin City is being established in PPP mode, on which an investment of about Rs 6000 crore will be made. A 3000-acre new city in Udham Singh Nagar district on the lines of GIFT City (15 minutes from Pantnagar Airport), of which the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor will be the economic hub is planned.
