Dehradun, 21 Dec: Uttarakhand will have its own pavilion at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh-2025. The Prayagraj Mela Authority has allotted a 40,000 square feet plot of land free of cost to Uttarakhand in Sector-7 Kailashpuri Marg, Eastern Track Prayagraj. The pavilion will showcase the rich culture of Uttarakhand to pilgrims. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the land allotment.
As preparations for Prayagraj Mahakumbh-2025 gain momentum, Uttarakhand has started working on providing various facilities to pilgrims travelling to Prayagraj to participate in Mahakumbh. Chief Minister Dhami had requested the Uttar Pradesh government to allocate separate land for Uttarakhand‘s pavilion at the Mahakumbh Mela, which has been granted. The state government will arrange all necessary facilities for pilgrims at this pavilion, giving visitors from across the country and the world, a glimpse of Uttarakhand‘s rich culture.
It may be recalled that the CM had recently held a meeting with officials to discuss preparations for the Mahakumbh. He had directed that the needs of saints and all other participants from Uttarakhand should be well taken care of. The government plans to make transport arrangements for the convenience of pilgrims. Cabinet Minister Baby Rani Maurya and Minister of State Brijesh Singh, representing Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, had visited Dehradun to formally invite Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh and Chief Minister Dhami to the Mahakumbh Mela.
Commenting on the developments in this regard, Chief Minister Dhami asserted that Uttarakhand, the origin area of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, holds great pride in participating in the Mahakumbh Mela at Prayagraj, where these two holy rivers converge. He emphasised that Uttarakhand would participate in the Maha Kumbh-2025 with full faith and devotion and would collaborate with the UP government to make the event a success. Dhami also added that in case, additional water is needed for bathing during the Mahakumbh, it would also be released from Uttarakhand. The state would also fully cooperate in transportation arrangements, he stated.
