Dehradun, 19 Jun: Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd) met with the office bearers of the “Hamara Parivar” organization at Raj Bhavan on Monday.
While welcoming the members of the “Hamara Parivar” organization, the Governor said that “Family” is the root of the ancient civilization of our country. It is said in our scriptures that “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” means the whole earth is our family. Unity is our biggest strength. The solution to any challenge is to find it as a family. He said that in those thousands of years of struggle, we were enslaved for centuries due to foreign forces, we did not leave our thoughts, our culture and our civilization, due to which our family is alive even today. He said that our family is an effort to revive that lost civilization, culture, thought, love and respect.
Lt-General Singh said that the social organization “Hamara Parivar” is doing commendable work. He said “I consider myself fortunate to be a member of this family. The organization is making significant contributions to nature conservation, religious and cultural tours and other social works including various pilgrimages of the country”. The work being done by the organization with the spirit of “our” and not “I” is commendable. The spirit of unity in diversity has been displayed by the institution. He said that the family is that part of society, which makes the whole nation and society strong. We learn how to live life in the family itself.
National organizer of the organization Dr. Surendra Kumar, Uttarakhand province coordinator Ajit Singh and officials associated with different provinces were present during the meeting.
