Dehradun, 6 Jan:  State Congress Committee General Secretary, Organisation, Vijay Saraswat today issued a statement claiming that the people of the state are fed up with the misrule of the BJP governments and they would teach that party a lesson by voting heavily in favour of the Congress candidates in the municipal elections.

Saraswat claimed that the Congress Party has always been the supporter of the exploited, deprived, Dalits, backward, and poor, and the party has continuously struggled to ensure justice to the deprived sections of society. He also claimed that Congress’s National President Mallikarjun Kharge and former National President Rahul Gandhi have gone among the common people through Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and have understood their difficulties. They are also raising issues related to public concern. Saraswat asserted that Rahul Gandhi has been working to awaken the people of the country against the anti-people policies of the BJP by doing padayatra across the country.

The Congress General Secretary alleged that currently, unemployment, inflation, and corruption are at their peak. He said that his party will work to get justice for all these sections. He also asserted that the Congress leaders would have to highlight the failures of the Central and State Governments of the BJP in the Municipal elections, raise the issues related to public concern prominently, and take the public welfare works done by the Congress Party governments to the public. He said that on the strength of the issues of public concern, the Congress Party will certainly win the Municipal Corporation elections with a huge majority.

Vijay Saraswat also shared that State Congress President Karan Mahra would campaign in favour of Mayor candidate Virendra Pokhriyal and the party candidates for the Corporators in various wards of Dehradun Municipal Corporation on 7 and 8 January.
