Dehradun, 26 Aug: Under the Vigilance Awareness Campaign, awareness programmes were organised at Sangam Public School (Thakurpur) and the Selakui Gram Panchayat by Tenzin Homboom, Chief Manager (Vigilance), and Pradeep Dhyani, Senior Manager (Official Language), from the Bank of India’s Dehradun Zonal Office. These programmes were conducted with the support of Tanu Saxena (Officer, Thakurpur Branch) and Mitakshara Negi (Manager, Selakui Branch), respectively.
It is worth noting that, in accordance with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), the Vigilance Awareness Campaign for 2026 is being conducted as a special three-month preventive vigilance drive from 17 August to 16 November 2026.
As part of this, the main Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed from 26 October to 1 November 2026. More than 70 students from classes 10 and 12, along with 7 teachers, participated in the programme held at Sangam Public School. Students were sensitised about honesty, integrity, ethical conduct, and corruption prevention, as well as protection against banking and digital fraud. They were advised not to share OTPs, PINs, passwords, or other confidential banking information and to remain cautious regarding suspicious links and mobile applications. Citizens present at the Selakui Gram Panchayat were also provided essential information regarding vigilance, transparency, and digital banking security.
The objective of these programmes was to raise awareness among the general public and students about vigilance, ethical values, and safe digital practices.
