Dehradun, 14 Jul: District Magistrate and District Election Officer Ashish Chauhan today shared that that under the revision work of the photo‑based Assembly electoral roll with 1 July 2026 as the qualifying date, the draft publication of the electoral roll has been issued today. Following this, claims and objections for inclusion of names, corrections and other necessary amendments in the voter list will be accepted from today onwards till 13 August 2026. He stated that eligible citizens can contact the Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer and Booth Level Officer (BLO) concerned for registering their names in the voter list. In addition, citizens may also apply online through the Election Commission’s website https://voters.eci.gov.in or via the Voter Helpline App.
The DM has appealed to the residents of the district to confirm their names in the voters list. If any voter’s name is missing or if corrections are required in name, address or other details, applications should be submitted in the prescribed forms. He explained that new voters can apply through Form‑6, names of deceased, shifted or ineligible voters can be removed through Form‑7, and corrections in entries can be made through Form‑8. He also urged the representatives of political parties, public representatives, voluntary organisations and citizens to cooperate in making the electoral roll more accurate and error‑free, emphasising that the inclusion of every eligible citizen’s name in the voter list is essential for a strong democracy. He directed the officials to conduct extensive public awareness campaigns during the special drive to ensure inclusion of eligible citizens, youth and new voters in the electoral roll and to guarantee timely disposal of applications.
