Haridwar, 4 Nov: Mahamandaleshwar of Juna Akhara and National Vice President of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti’ Swami Yatindranand Giri has strongly called for a ban on the entry of ‘non- Sanatanis’ at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. In a statement issued through a video message, Giri asserted that Kumbh Mela is the centre of greatness, vastness, mythology, faith, devotion and beliefs of Sanatan Hindu culture. Giri also threatened a boycott and protests in case the ‘non-Sanatanis’ are allowed to do business in the Kumbh Mela area.
He added that the sanctity of the Mahakumbh is based on the fact that all the traditional rituals and activities like meditation, the holy bath in Ganga, on auspicious Mahurats and on auspicious dates, Satsang, Yagyas, Havans, sermons, many types of Vedic rituals, intense meditation and penance in the form of Kalpavas by many devotees are held in the holy Sangam area. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the sanctity. Yatindranand Giri added that the Sadhu Samaj of India supports the demand of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, and further demands from the Uttar Pradesh government and the Mela administration that the entry of any non-Sanatani and any type of business activity by him in the Mela area should be banned. No non-Sanatani should be allowed to do business in the Kumbh Mela area, and all the traders should be directed to display their photo and identification prominently on their establishments.
Giri warned that, in case non-Sanatanis are allowed to do any type of business activity in the Kumbh Mela area, then the Sant Samaj would resort to boycott and protests.
