DM holds public hearing, 9 orders resolution of complaints

DEHRADUN, 4 Nov: A public hearing was held at the Rishiparna Auditorium at the Collectorate here, today, during which District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal heard the problems and complaints of the people and ordered resolution of the problems. A total of 76 complaints were received during the public hearing today. Most of the complaints were related to land disputes and issues, while others were related to services of Jal Sansthan, and MDDA, the Municipal Corporation while some of the complaints were related to mutual disputes between people. Many senior citizens also turned up for the public hearing to register their complaints.

The DM directed the officers of all departments concerned to resolve the complaints in a timely manner and also ensure the timely submission of reports on complaints for which a joint report has been requested. Bansal also noted that a digital system is being developed for the disposal and monitoring of the complaints, which will track the officer responsible for each complaint and how long it remains pending. This system aims to ensure timely complaint resolution and effective monitoring of the action taken.

The DM also directed SDM, Rishikesh, AE, MDDA, and Police Circle Officer (CO) Rishikesh to submit a joint report on the complaint of construction in a sealed building in Awas Vikas Colony. The SDM Rishikesh was also instructed to take action on a complaint of harassment from a resident of Haripurkala, Rishikesh. In response to a complaint of encroachment on government land that falls under river land category in Kargi, the SDM, Sadar, and MDDA officials were directed to conduct a joint investigation and take due action.

Additionally, officials of the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, Kalsi, were directed to take action on the alleged irregularities in the tendering process for constructing a store under the Jeevangarh drinking water scheme and addressing the pipeline leakage in Serki Maldevta that is hindering sowing and damaging crops. The SDM, Vikasnagar, and the officials of the irrigation department were directed by the DM to take action on the residents’ complaint from Gram Panchayat Chharba of damaging the irrigation department’s canal by land mafia. Some residents of Dalanwala complained about alleged installation of an illegal gate outside a colony in respect of which the DM directed MDDA to resolve the issue.

On this occasion, CDO Abhinav Shah, ADM, Administration, Jai Bharat Singh, Additional Chief Municipal Commissioner Bir Singh Budiyal, SP, Traffic, Mukesh Kumar, SDMs Harigiri, Shalini Negi, Kumkum Joshi, Director, Rural Development Agency, Vikram Singh, DDO Sunil Kumar, Chief Veterinary Officer Vidyadhar Kapri, DSO KK Agarwal, and officials from Jal Sansthan, PWD, Electricity, PMGSY, and other related departments were present.
