LUCKNOW, 20 Sep: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed appreciation for the growing employment opportunities being extended to ex–servicemen and their dependents through the efforts of the UP Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Ltd.
Maj Gen (Retd) Sharad Bikram Singh, Managing Director of the Corporation, had called on the Chief Minister on Thursday evening and apprised him of the welfare measures undertaken under the government’s guidance. According to official sources, the CM was informed that employment opportunities for ex–servicemen and their families have registered an increase of nearly 36 per cent this year. The number of placements, which stood at 22,000 last year, has now risen to 30,000.
Adityanath lauded this progress, and described it as an affirmation of the government’s commitment to the welfare of ex–servicemen. Singh further shared with the CM that with state government support, the corporation has been successful in deploying former service personnel in prominent institutions, including SGPGI, AIIMS, district hospitals and state medical colleges. These men, he observed, are discharging their duties with discipline, integrity and vigilance while ensuring that unlawful activities are curbed.
On the occasion, the MD also presented a memento of the Corporation to the CM and observed, that the institution is an undertaking of the Uttar Pradesh Government. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the UP Ex–Servicemen Welfare Corporation is vigilantly safeguarding the state like a dedicated karmayogi.
It may be recalled that as part of the employment initiatives, around 2,500 ex–servicemen and their dependents have been engaged in district hospitals and medical colleges, thereby ensuring both economic stability for their families and enhanced security for doctors, staff and patients in these institutions. Families of the beneficiaries have expressed gratitude for the measures that have significantly strengthened their livelihood prospects.
