Praising the DM and his entire team, Lt Gen Singh said that the administration had extended timely support to the affected people in a very short span. He said that reaching out to remote areas and instilling confidence among the people was commendable. The Governor stressed that while such natural disasters occur from time to time, we must learn from each experience and be better prepared for the future. He also recommended that officials and employees who perform outstandingly during disaster management should be honored, so that their dedication and service spirit receive due recognition.
Later, the Governor inspected the damaged bridge at Nanda Ki Chowki. He was briefed by the officers about the progress of the alternative route being built, which is expected to be completed within 3–4 days, while full reconstruction of the bridge will take more time. The Governor instructed that connectivity be restored at the earliest to avoid inconvenience to the people. Local residents also met the Governor at the site and apprised him of their difficulties.
Subsequently, the Governor visited the disaster-affected Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple. He interacted with the priests and locals to learn about the damage caused by the disaster. He said that while this is a challenging time for everyone, with the combined efforts of the government and administration, normalcy would soon be restored.
On the occasion, the Governor also offered Jalabhishek at Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, praying for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.
