DEHRADUN, 3 Feb: Monday, Sift Kaur Samra of Punjab bagged the gold in the women’s 50m 3 position with a brilliant performance at the shooting range Trishool of MPSC, with a score of 461.2, while Anjum Moudgil clinched silver with a score of 458.7 and Surabhi Bhardwaj Rapole took home the bronze medal with a score of 448.8.
15–year old Jonathan Gavin Antony, however, triumphed in men’s 10m air pistol not with just gold but become the youngest-ever to win the title at the National Games.
Services Ravinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh scored 240.3 and 220.1, took home the silver and bronze medal respectively. While Sarabjot finished 4th with a score of 198.4 in the final.
Jonathan begun with the sport at 11, on his mother’s wish, Ancy, who herself is an accomplished shooter. Jonathan, a 10th grader in Benguluru, aims to join in the Junior Indian Team soon and compete in the ISSF World Cup and later, in Olympics.
