25th State Formation Day celebrated with simplicity at Vidhan Sabha

Dehradun, 11 Nov: The 25th State Formation Day was celebrated on 9 November with simplicity at the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Secretariat, here, under the chairmanship of Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan. During the event, she paid tribute to the freedom fighters and the leaders of the statehood movement for their service and struggle. She also expressed her condolences for the victims of the tragic bus accident in Almora district, offering a moment of silence in their memory.

Addressing the assembly staff, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan emphasised that the contributions of these brave agitationists would always be remembered, as it is their sacrifice that has made the existence of Uttarakhand possible today. Reflecting on the journey of the state over the past 24 years, she said, “State Formation Day is a day of pride and honour for all of us. In these years, Uttarakhand has faced numerous challenges, but despite every difficulty, the state has continuously progressed. The people of the state have always struggled for development, and together, we have worked to make Uttarakhand a prosperous state.”

She recalled the hardships and struggles during the formation of Uttarakhand and added, “The struggle that the people of Uttarakhand undertook for the creation of the state can never be forgotten. The role of every citizen is important for the state’s development, and together, we must elevate this state to new heights.”

The Speaker also discussed the government’s schemes aimed at the social, cultural, and economic uplift of the state. She specifically highlighted achievements in the fields of education, health, infrastructure, and environmental conservation.

She further emphasised, “We must actively involve our youth in the state’s development so that the coming generations inherit a strong and prosperous Uttarakhand. We must work together to protect our state’s cultural heritage and natural resources while driving progress.”

Ritu Khanduri Bhushan also referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat and a developed India. She said, “The vision that our Prime Minister has for a developed India by 2047 holds immense importance for Uttarakhand. Our state is rich in resources and natural beauty, and if we utilise these resources effectively, we can not only strengthen our state but also contribute to the nation’s progress.”

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Arvind Bhatt, Additional Secretary, Parliamentary and Legislative Affairs; Hem Pant, In-Charge Secretary, Legislative Assembly; Ashok Shah, Special Officer; Chandermohan Goswami, Joint Secretary; Manoj Jasparia, Deputy Secretary; Vishal Sharma, Narendra Rawat, Ajay Agarwal, Ravi Bisht, Pankaj Pundir, Prakash Rawat, and others.
