DEHRADUN, 14 Jul: A car carrying tourists plunged off the road on its way to Chakrata some five kilometres from Kalsi and smashed into the rocks downhill, killing five persons on the spot. Two of the deceased belonged to Muzaffarnagar and the remaining to Saharanpur. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination by the police. The incident is reported to have taken place late last night. The police and the administration came to know of the incident only this morning. The bodies were recovered by a team led by Tehsildar KD Joshi and the Kalsi Thana In-charge. Those killed were identified as Virendar Walia (35), Deepak Tomar (34), Gaurav Tyagi (34), Sachin and Virendra Walia. The families of the deceased were also informed about the incident.
