DEHRADUN, 14 Jul: The installation ceremony was organised on Saturday of Rotary Club Doon Shivalik at a local hotel, here. Praveen Goyal was appointed President. Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ was the Chief Guest on the occasion. KK Sony was the Guest of Honour. Outgoing President Vikas Agarwal passed on the colour to Praveen Goyal for the year ahead and wished him all the best. Dr Akhil Kukreja was appointed Secretary for the year 2019-20. Vikas Agarwal thanked everyone for making his tenure a great success in which major projects were completed, including various health camps and blood donation drives organised in rural areas. Sharing his vision, Praveen Goyal said that main areas to work on included the Waste Management Project, enhancing the public image, and enhancing participation of members for Rotary Projects. Projects like setting up of libraries in various schools of Uttarakhand, health & hygiene awareness camps in schools, and two-day health camp would be organised in the Tehri region in the month of November this year. Health check-up camps would be held in nearby rural areas of Dehradun, also. Chief Guest Sunil Uniyal Gama wished them success for the coming years. Guest of Honour KK Sony praised the work being done by the Rotary members for betterment of society. Jagriti Nawani, Assistant Governor for Zone 12 in Rotary District 3080, said that the organisation had been doing great humanitarian work and would continue to do so. The Master of Ceremonies was Ankit Agarwal. Club Secretary Dr Akhil Kukreja proposed the vote of thanks to all present. Present on the occasion from Rotary Club were Rasik Bhatia, Puneet Tandon, Sandeep Singh, District Governors Prem Bhalla, Col Patnaik and Rakesh Agarwal. Other guests present were Banwari Lal Goyal and members of other sister clubs.
