DEHRADUN, 14 Jul: The Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, Uttarakhand Chapter, organised a conference on “Advances in Infertility Management” for the Gynecologists of Uttarakhand and nearby region, today, at a local hotel. “The Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction is the apex organisation in the field of Infertility treatment guidelines with more than 3600 members,” said Dr Arti Luthra, Chairperson, UK ISAR. She disclosed that the focus of ISAR would be on taking India towards better practices and better outcomes. The conference received a great response in academic sessions and discussions with almost 120 doctors participating. The Conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Director General of Police Anil Raturi, and Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, who was the Guest of Honour for the event. Anil Raturi expressed his views about the doctor’s responsibility in maintaining equal Sex Ratio and Ethical Practices. He also expressed that the common saying should have been ‘God cannot be everywhere, so he made Doctors’. Doctors nurture health and well being of their patients, they are next to God at maintaining health of society. Dr Saroj Naithani, Additional Director, MH & FW, also discussed ‘How to build a cultured nation by promoting positive vibes in pregnant women.’ The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Dr Savita Luthra, (Medical Director, Luthra Maternity and Infertility Centre) in recognition of her enduring commitment towards Women’s Healthcare. Informative talks were delivered by Guest Faculty on advances in Endoscopic surgery by Dr Neelam Ohri, ART, and Infertility by Dr Preeti Jindal, as well as Robotic surgery by Dr Anupama Bahadur. The Dehradun Society actively interacted with the visiting faculty from AIIMS, Rishikesh, Haldwani Medical College, SGRR Medical College, HIHT and surrounding areas. Dr Arti Luthra, Dr Ritu Prasad, Secretary UK ISAR, Dr Jyoti Sharma, Dr Vinita Gupta, Dr Ritu Punhani, Dr Vidushi Jain, Dr Radhika Raturi, Dr Arunima enthusiastically made the meeting an exciting and innovative event, academically. The ‘Excellence in Women’s Healthcare Awards’ were given to senior gynaecologists Dr Indu Kalhan, Dr Asha Rawal, Dr I Rukmani, Dr T Patnaik, Dr Jyoti Sharma for their immense contribution in social work and healthcare.
