Govt committed to accessible, quality healthcare to people of U’khand: Dhami

CM inaugurates PSP Multi Super Speciality Hospital in Haldwani

HALDWANI, 28 Feb: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday inaugurated PSP Multi Super Speciality Hospital and Research Centre in Haldwani. On this occasion, he described this event as a significant milestone in the expansion of healthcare services in Uttarakhand and added that the occasion symbolised not merely the opening of a hospital but a journey of resolve, struggle and service.
During his visit to Haldwani in Nainital district, the Chief Minister participated in the inaugural ceremony of the newly established hospital located on Rampur Road. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, he said the event represented the inspiring story of a family committed to societal welfare, which had translated its life values into meaningful action. He remarked that the establishment of PSP Multi Super Speciality Hospital and Research Centre reflected dedication towards community service and a firm commitment to human welfare.
Dhami on this occasion, extended congratulations and best wishes to the founder of the institution, Jagdish Singh Pimoli, a native of Gagri Gol village in Bageshwar district, who Dhami stated, has carved a distinct identity in the field of healthcare services. He observed that Pimoli’s journey, which began in a modest rural background, had now culminated in the creation of a modern healthcare institution, serving as an inspiration to all. His struggle, hard work and determination stand as a true example of success. After establishing himself in the business sector upon moving from a remote village, he has now ventured into the medical field with a resolve to further the noble cause of service to humanity.
Dhami stated that the 250-bed modern multi super speciality hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities and would further strengthen Uttarakhand’s position on the map of medical excellence in the years ahead.
In his address, the Chief Minister also reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the national HPV Vaccination Campaign aimed at preventing cervical cancer among girls. He noted that cervical cancer had been emerging as a serious threat to the lives of daughters across the country. With the resolve to protect them from this grave disease, the nationwide campaign has been initiated to ensure a safe and healthy future for coming generations.
Highlighting the state government’s initiatives, Dhami asserted that Uttarakhand Government is consistently striving to make healthcare services accessible and effective for the common people. Under the Ayushman Uttarakhand scheme, more than 61 lakh citizens have been issued Ayushman cards. Under the free diagnostic scheme, patients are being provided 207 types of pathological tests free of cost.
He further stated that construction of the satellite centre of AIIMS in Udham Singh Nagar is progressing steadily, which will enable a large population of the region to avail high-quality medical services locally. All these efforts reflect the Government’s commitment to providing better, accessible and quality healthcare services to every citizen of the State.
The Chief Minister stated that the Government is working continuously to realise its “Vikalp Rahit Sankalp” of making Uttarakhand the best state in the country.
On the occasion, he also participated in a Holi singing programme and extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the festival of Holi. Among those present at the programme were Nainital–Udham Singh Nagar MP Ajay Bhatt, former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari, BJP District President Pratap Singh Bisht, District Panchayat President Deepa Darmwal, Lalkuan MLA Mohan Singh Bisht, Bhimtal MLA Ram Singh Kaida, Nainital MLA Sarita Arya, Kapkot MLA Suresh Gadiya, Haldwani Mayor Gajraj Singh Bisht, Anil Kapoor Dabbuu, Dinesh Arya, Shankar Koranga and Naveen Lal Verma along with other public representatives.
Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate Lalit Mohan Ryal, SSP Dr Manjunath TC, founder of PSP Multi Super Speciality Hospital Jagdish Pimoli and several other dignitaries were also present at the event.
