Kasiga School emerges winner at inter-school cricket tourney

DEHRADUN, 27 Apr: The 8th All-India PC Batta Memorial InterSchool Cricket Tournament 2026 concluded on a high note at the Kasiga School Cricket Oval after ten days of intense competition, exemplary sportsmanship, and remarkable performances by participating teams from across the country.
The final match was played between The Scindia School, Gwalior and Kasiga School (A Team). Opting to bat first, Scindia School posted a total of 94/9 in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Kasiga School (A Team) successfully chased the target, scoring 95/3 in 15.4 overs, thereby winning the match by 7 wickets and emerging as the champions of the tournament.
The closing ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Anil Raturi, author & retd IAS, along with the Chairman Ramesh Batta, members of the Board of Directors, and senior school leadership.
In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the significance of sports in shaping character. He emphasized that sports provide a vital arena where individuals learn to respect and obey rules, work towards desired outcomes with discipline, and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship. He also appreciated the world-class infrastructure of Kasiga School and remarked that students are fortunate to be nurtured in such an environment that fosters their growth into responsible individuals.
The Chairman congratulated all participants and extended his appreciation to the coaches, supervisors, and grounds men for their tireless efforts and dedication, which played a crucial role in the successful conduct of the tournament. As a mark of recognition, they were felicitated and awarded cash prizes for their invaluable contribution.
Award Winners: Player of the Match: Meet Digama (Kasiga School); Best Batter: Ayanveer Bhatia (Kasiga School); Best Bowler: Arjun Kothari (The Scindia School, Gwalior); Best Wicketkeeper: Devansh Arya (Kasiga School); and Player of the Tournament: Ayanveer Bhatia (Kasiga School).
The tournament not only showcased exceptional cricketing talent but also reinforced values of teamwork, perseverance, and fair play. With participation from twelve prestigious schools, the event stood as a testament to Kasiga School’s commitment to promoting sporting excellence and holistic development.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of trophies, a vote of thanks, and the National Anthem, marking the successful culmination of yet another memorable edition of this prestigious tournament.
