Yamkeshwar (Pauri Garhwal), 7 May: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has his roots in Uttarakhand and every single visit of his here generates a lot of interest and enthusiasm in the state. Today again Adityanath arrived in his ancestral village Panchur, located in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri Garhwal district, for a two-day private visit. His arrival was marked by a warm welcome from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Yamkeshwar helipad. Local residents and party workers expectedly gathered in large numbers to greet him.

Yogi Adityanath’s itinerary in Uttarakhand includes participation in the consecration ceremony of the newly built Hari Vishnu Panchdev temple, a religious event of considerable cultural significance. On reaching Panchur, he paid floral tributes at the statue of his spiritual guide Gorakhnath at the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Government Degree College in Bithyani. He then inaugurated an open-air gym near the college, where both the CMs also joined in exercising briefly, symbolising their encouragement of fitness initiatives. Later, they offered prayers at the Yamkeshwar Mahadev temple, accompanied by local devotees.

The visit has generated excitement across the region, with villagers and BJP workers extending a spirited welcome at various points. The administration and police remained on high alert, ensuring tight security arrangements at the venues and surrounding areas. Senior Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar confirmed that comprehensive preparations had been made, with adequate deployment of police forces to manage the large gatherings expected during the programmes.

The programme was inaugurated by both the CMs with formal prayers and worship at the ancient Shiva Temple located in Yamkeshwar. They prayed to Lord Mahadev for the peace, prosperity, and public welfare of the nation and the state. Upon their arrival in Yamkeshwar, District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria gave a formal welcome to the guests.

Adityanath participated in the Shri Vishnu Mahayagya and became a part of the spiritual rituals along with his family and fellow villagers. Expressing his gratitude to the temple committee, CM Yogi remarked that where there was only a sense of faith three years ago, a grand temple stands today. Inspiring the youth, he stated that a positive outlook is mandatory for progress in life. Thinking well leads to pleasant results, and devotion to God and spirituality is the most powerful medium to maintain this positive energy.

Dhami praised the leadership of CM Yogi and made a mention of the anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor’. Giving a major gift to the region, he announced the development of Bithyani College as an ‘Ideal College’ and the commencement of construction for a mini stadium in the area very soon. He stated that the state government is committed to providing world-class education and sports facilities to the youth, in line with which this college is being made high-tech. He also mentioned that the benefits of government schemes are being reached to the last person in the line.

Upon reaching the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Government Degree College, Bithyani, the female students gave a grand and emotional welcome to both the Chief Ministers in traditional style. On this occasion, CM Yogi Adityanath and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami paid their respects by offering garlands to the statue of Guru Gorakhnath. Taking a major step towards the modernisation of education, the guests performed the digital inauguration of the college’s new AI-based website, the functioning of which was explained in detail by Trilok Chandra Sharma. A unique example of digital technology was witnessed during the programme when CM Yogi himself interacted with an AI bot to review the college’s examination system and results, while CM Dhami discussed student strength and skill development. Additionally, the inauguration of the college’s new building and seminar hall, along with the release of the book ‘Viksit Bharat Ek Sankalp’, was completed in a dignified manner.
