DEHRADUN, 9 May: Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Prof Kamal Ghanshala, said that at the beginning of a career, better work culture, opportunities to learn new things and grow are more important than attractive salary packages. Ghanshala was addressing students while honouring those who secured excellent placements on Saturday. On this occasion, 723 students and their parents, whose packages went up to Rs 61.63 lakh, were honoured.
A grand ceremony was organised at the Silver Jubilee Convention Centre to honour students who secured excellent placements and those who scored up to 98.2 per cent marks in high school. Addressing the gathering, Prof Ghanshala, while citing several examples, said that real success is determined by work done with honesty, discipline, stability and human values. He inspired students to maintain positive relationships, communicate effectively, work with team spirit, stay away from negativity and keep moving forward by learning from failures.

At the felicitation ceremony, B Tech student Pradeep Rawat of Graphic Era Deemed University was honoured with a cash award of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy for securing placement at Google with a package of Rs 61.63 lakh. Shivam Aggarwal was honoured for securing Rs 60.3 lakh at D.E. Shaw, Kunal Kumar for Rs 56 lakh at Microsoft, Arshita and Shreya Mahajan for Rs 54.84 lakh at Google, and Astha Mehta and Adarsh Bharti Musa for Rs 47.88 lakh at Amazon. Similarly, among BTech students of Graphic Era Hill University, Prerna Badoni and Rakshit Beniwal were awarded Rs 1 lakh cash prize and a trophy for securing Rs 56 lakh packages at Microsoft, while Palak Aggarwal was honoured for securing Rs 54.84 lakh annual package at Google.
The parents of these ‘placed’ students were also honoured by Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions and Vice Chairperson Rakhi Ghanshala. In the same course, Graphic Era Deemed University students Aradhya Bahuguna, Dev Verma, Dhruv Gupta, Manisha Pannu and Graphic Era Hill University students Aanshik Sharma, Himani Upadhyay, Ishika Rana, Mohit Singh Rawat and Nitin Rana were awarded Rs 50,000 cash prize for securing packages of Rs 47.88 lakh at Amazon.
This year, 723 students of Graphic Era have set a new benchmark of success by securing excellent placements. Students from BTech, BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA and various other courses have been selected by prestigious multinational companies including Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, Flipkart, JP Morgan, Deloitte, Tata Consultancy Services, Amul, National Australia Bank, Yamaha, Nykaa, Lenskart and Asian Paints.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Narpinder Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor Santosh S. Saraf, Registrar Dr Naresh Kumar Sharma, other officials and faculty members.
