DEHRADUN, 4 Jul: BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan on Saturday asserted that the tenure of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will not be assessed merely by its duration but by the work accomplished. He added that as far as work and the performance are concerned, in this regard he has joined the ranks of the country’s most popular chief ministers. Chauhan also asserted that the ongoing projects worth lakhs of crores in the State are proof of Uttarakhand’s steady progress.
Responding to Congress’s allegations, Chauhan remarked that the Opposition is engaged only in ritualistic criticism, while Dhami has demonstrated vision, dedication and discipline through his decisions. He said Congress attempted to level charges of gold theft in Badrinath and Kedarnath, but investigations proved the allegations baseless. He added that BJP has never shied away from inquiries, citing that when the issue of offerings at Kedarnath arose, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee ordered an investigation, and in Ayodhya the SIT is carrying out its work.
Chauhan stated that Dhami’s five years have been spotless and devoted to development, and celebrations are natural. He said the people are enthusiastic and focused on progress, while Congress fears that the wave of development may erase its relevance. He alleged that Congress has resorted to baseless statements to divert attention from the embarrassment of its Sankalp Yatra, where even party workers are demanding change within the organisation.
The BJP leader emphasised that BJP does not wait for elections to reach out to the people but remains among them at all times. He claimed that the youth, the women and the common people are satisfied with transparent and inclusive development, particularly in employment and welfare and that the blessings of the people are firmly with BJP, while Congress remains frustrated and directionless.
