CS Bardhan reviews progress of reconstruction works in Badrinath

Dehradun, 7 Jul: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed the progress of the Kedarnath reconstruction and redevelopment works and the Badrinath Master Plan works at the Secretariat, here, today. The Chief Secretary obtained detailed information on the Kedarnath reconstruction works. He inquired about the physical and financial progress of each work, as well as the timeline for completion.
The Chief Secretary said that work on the six blocks to be done at Kedarnath Dham should be started immediately. He directed that each work should be continuously monitored to ensure completion on schedule. He directed the District Magistrate, Rudraprayag, to prepare a comprehensive and integrated waste management plan for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra area to ensure proper disposal of any type of waste during the Yatra. He assured that all financial, technical, and other support required will be provided.
The Chief Secretary also took detailed information on the progress of the Badrinath Master Plan Phase 1 and Phase 2. He inquired about the physical and financial progress of each project and directed them to expedite the work according to the deadlines for completion. He said that all types of content and artwork involved in the project should be started simultaneously.
The Chief Secretary directed the District Magistrates to prepare a framework for the operation and maintenance of all the assets and facilities being established at Kedarnath and Badrinath Dhams. He said that pre-determined institutions for their operation will help in determining the responsibility for maintenance, etc., after handover.
Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar, and District Magistrates from the respective districts were present on this occasion.
