Dehradun, 7 Jul: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran met Dheeraj Garbyal, Secretary, Tourism, today, to discuss the ambitious Purkul–Mussoorie Ropeway Project.

During the meeting, Jugran informed the Tourism Secretary that some of the pillars of the Purkul–Mussoorie Ropeway Project appear to be weak and in a deteriorated condition. He expressed concern that, during the monsoon season, heavy rainfall, landslides, and soil erosion could damage or even cause the collapse of these pillars. He urged that a comprehensive safety audit and structural assessment of all the pillars be conducted to ensure the project’s safety and prevent any future questions regarding this prestigious initiative.

Jugran added that he formed this opinion after personally inspecting the project site.

Secretary Tourism Dheeraj Garbyal directed Abhishek Rohila, Additional Secretary, Tourism, to initiate a safety audit of the Purkul–Mussoorie Ropeway Project.

Ravindra Jugran also said that the Additional Secretary informed him that the project is expected to be completed by October 2027.
