Mussoorie, 7 Jul: Intermittent light rain throughout the day on Tuesday made the weather in Mussoorie delightfully pleasant. The showers caused a drop in temperature, providing relief from the humidity experienced over the past few days. Tourists from across the country and abroad flocked to Mall Road, Gun Hill, Company Garden, and other tourist spots to enjoy the cool breeze and the valleys shrouded in mist.

Following the rain, the valleys of Mussoorie were enveloped in clouds and fog. Tourists were seen strolling amidst the light drizzle with umbrellas in hand, while locals also thoroughly enjoyed the change in weather. Many tourists were spotted taking selfies and photographs amidst the rain. Visitors from states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab mentioned that they had headed to Mussoorie to escape the scorching heat and humidity of the plains. Upon arrival, the light rain and cool winds made their trip memorable. They remarked that Mussoorie’s natural beauty becomes even more captivating during the rainy season. The Meteorological Department had already issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ predicting rain in the mountainous regions. In light of this, the district administration has urged residents and tourists to exercise caution in vulnerable areas and stay away from locations prone to landslides. Those involved in the tourism industry state that the pleasant weather accompanying the arrival of the monsoon continues to attract tourists, thereby boosting business for hotels, restaurants, and local shops. If the weather remains favourable, an increase in tourist numbers is expected in the coming days.
